June 25, 2012: George Lundberg, MD, Editor-at-Large, MedPage Today speaks out on “A Better Way to Do Utilization Review”. Dr. Lundberg was Editor of the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA). During his 17-year tenure, JAMA’s scientific impact factor rose to its highest level, exceeded only by the New England Journal of Medicine, The Lancet, and Annals of Internal Medicine, among general medical journals. He questions the effectiveness of utilization review as currently practiced in the United States and comments about CHA’s approach.
